1. What we collect
- Account details: your email address, password (stored securely by our sign-in provider, never readable by us), and, for Crew plans, your name and company.
- What you put into Ask Roadie: the gear you pick, your questions and replies, your feedback (like 👍 and 👎), fixes you submit, and your session history.
- Billing: your plan, billing status, and payment history. Card details are handled by our payment processor; we only see limited details such as card type and last four digits.
- Usage and device information: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, timestamps, and error logs, collected automatically when you use the Service.
- Website visits: on our public pages (not inside the app), which pages you view, the site or link that sent you (including campaign tags in the link), your device type, and a random visitor ID stored in your browser. We don't use cookies or store your IP address for this, and we use it only to see how people find and use our site.
- How you found us: when you sign up, your answer to “How did you hear about us?” if you give one, and the site or campaign that first brought you to askroadie.app.
- Messages: anything you send to support@askroadie.app or sales@askroadie.app, or through our contact form (your name, email, company if given, and message). We keep a copy of form messages so nothing gets lost, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for a short time to block spam.
2. How we use it
- To answer your questions, remember context within a session, and show your history.
- To improve Ask Roadie, including using sessions and feedback to make fixes better for everyone. Fixes shown to other users don't include your email address.
- To run your account, process payments, and send service emails like sign-in links, password resets, receipts, and important changes.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse, and enforce usage limits and our Terms.
- To send occasional product news. You can unsubscribe from these anytime; service emails still come.
- To meet legal obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal information for money. We share it only:
- With service providers that run parts of Ask Roadie for us, under contracts that limit how they use it: website hosting, data storage and sign-in, email delivery, payment processing, and providers that process your questions and look up technical information to generate answers.
- With other users, in the form of approved fixes and tips, without your email address.
- With your company, if you use a Crew plan: your company's account administrators may see team usage reports.
- For legal and safety reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Ask Roadie, our users, or others.
- With Meta, for ad measurement, on our public marketing pages only (home, pricing, contact, sign-up and similar). The Meta Pixel tells Meta which of those pages you visited so we can measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram. It never runs inside the signed-in app, your account pages, or your troubleshooting sessions, and we don't send Meta your questions, answers, name or email. Under some state laws this may count as “sharing” for advertising; you can opt out any time (see section 7).
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy.
4. Cookies and browser storage
We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in, remember basic settings, and hold the random visitor ID and first referring site we use to count website visits (no cookie is set for this). On our public marketing pages, the Meta Pixel sets cookies for Meta so we can measure our Facebook and Instagram ads. It isn't used inside the signed-in app. You can opt out in section 7, block third-party cookies in your browser, or change your ad settings with Meta.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we need to keep records for legal, tax, or billing purposes, or to resolve disputes. Approved fixes stay available to other users without your personal information. Backup copies are removed on their normal schedule. Website visit records are deleted after 13 months.
6. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls, and two-factor authentication for administrator access. No system is perfectly secure, so use a strong, unique password and tell us right away at support@askroadie.app if you think your account has been compromised.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, download, or delete your personal information, or to close your account, by emailing support@askroadie.app. Depending on your state (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, or Texas), you may have additional privacy rights. We honor these requests for all users, won't treat you differently for making one, and may need to verify your identity first.
Opt out of ad measurement and visit counting. Use the switch below to stop the Meta Pixel and our website visit counting on this browser. We also treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as an opt-out. You can email support@askroadie.app to opt out as well.
8. Children
Ask Roadie isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it. Users 13 to 17 need a parent or guardian's permission.
9. Where your information is stored
Ask Roadie is offered in the United States, and your information is stored and processed primarily in the United States.
10. Changes to this policy
We'll update the date at the top when this policy changes. If a change is material, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
