1. Safety comes first
- You are responsible for deciding whether and how to act on any answer, and for the safety of people, equipment, and venues in your care.
- Rigging, electrical power distribution, lasers, pyrotechnics, and any work at height must be performed only by qualified, authorized people following applicable codes, venue rules, and manufacturer instructions.
- Never bypass a safety interlock, exceed a load rating, or work on energized equipment because of anything you read on Ask Roadie.
- When the manufacturer's documentation, a venue rule, or a qualified person on site says something different from Ask Roadie, follow them.
2. Who can use Ask Roadie
The Service is offered to people in the United States. You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf. If you use Ask Roadie for a company, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for that company.
3. Your account
- Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Each login is for one person. Don't share your login or let others use your account. Crew plans get a login for each person.
- Keep your password secure and tell us right away at support@askroadie.app if you think someone else has accessed your account. You're responsible for activity under your account.
4. Plans, trials, and billing
- Free trial. Trial length and session limits are shown when you sign up. No payment method is needed for the trial, and nothing is charged when it ends; access pauses until you choose a plan. If you subscribe during the trial, your first payment is on the day the trial would have ended, and you can cancel before then without being charged. There is one free trial per person, email address, and payment card. An email that has already had a trial doesn't get another, and a card that has already been used for a trial on another account is charged from the day you subscribe.
- Automatic renewal. Paid plans renew automatically each month or year, at the then-current price, until you cancel. You authorize us and our payment processor to charge your payment method for each renewal.
- Cancel anytime. Cancel from your account page or by emailing support. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- No refunds. Payments are non-refundable, and we don't give refunds or credits for partial periods or unused sessions, except where the law requires it.
- Price changes. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice before a price change affects your renewal.
- Early-adopter offer. Subscriptions started before January 1, 2027 get 50% off, applied automatically at checkout. Monthly plans are billed at 50% off through December 2026 and at the regular price from January 1, 2027. An annual plan bought before January 1, 2027 is 50% off for its first year and renews at the regular price. The offer doesn't combine with other discounts, including the referral discount, has no cash value, and ends on January 1, 2027.
- Usage limits. Plans include fair-use limits (for example, questions per day and per session) to keep the Service fast and available for everyone. Current limits are shown in the app and on the pricing page.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may pause paid features until it's resolved. Prices don't include taxes; you're responsible for any that apply.
- Referrals. A friend who signs up with your referral code gets 20% off their first paid month or year, once (until January 1, 2027 they get the early-adopter offer instead). You earn credit equal to 20% of what they pay (before tax) while you both stay subscribed. Credit applies to your own Ask Roadie plan only, has no cash value, can't be transferred, and is lost if you cancel. Credit from a payment that is refunded or reversed is taken back. You can't refer yourself, and we may void referrals we believe are abusive. Members covered by a company plan can refer friends but don't earn credit.
- Crew plans. Company plans may be covered by a separate order form or agreement. If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement wins.
5. Your content
“Your content” means what you put into Ask Roadie: the gear you pick, your questions and replies, your feedback (like 👍 and 👎), and fixes you submit. You keep ownership of it.
You give Ask Roadie a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, store, copy, edit, combine, and share your content to run, improve, and promote the Service. That includes showing fixes you submit, and fixes learned from your sessions, to other users. We don't show your email address with them. This license continues after your account is closed.
- Only submit content you have the right to share. Don't include passwords, client-confidential information, or other people's personal information.
- Submitted fixes are reviewed and may be edited, held for safety review, or declined. Stars and other recognition have no cash value.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, scrape, crawl, bulk-download, or export answers, fixes, or other content from the Service;
- use the Service, or anything from it, to build, train, or improve a competing product or dataset;
- access the Service with bots, scripts, or other automated means, or get around usage limits;
- reverse engineer the Service or try to extract how it works, its instructions, or its underlying data;
- resell, sublicense, or share access to the Service;
- probe, scan, or test the security of the Service, or interfere with its operation;
- use the Service for anything unlawful, harmful, or unrelated to production and event technology.
Ask Roadie covers professional production gear and show software. Consumer or IT gear, like a TV, laptop, or projector, is covered when it's being used on a show, event, or venue. Vehicles, household appliances, home repair, and other topics outside production are not. Questions outside that scope are declined and don't count against your plan's limits, but repeated ones will pause your ability to ask questions for a period of time, and continued misuse may lead to suspension under section 8.
7. Our property
The Service, including its software, design, answers, fix library, and the Ask Roadie name and logo, belongs to Ask Roadie LLC and its licensors and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your own work during your subscription or trial.
Manufacturer and product names are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify gear. Ask Roadie isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any manufacturer unless we say so. Manuals and other third-party materials belong to their owners.
8. Changes, suspension, and closing your account
- We're always improving Ask Roadie, so features, coverage, and limits may change. Some features may be labeled beta.
- We don't promise the Service will always be available or error-free, including during a show.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the Service or other users at risk.
- You can close your account anytime by emailing support@askroadie.app.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE AND ALL ANSWERS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, ASK ROADIE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT ANY ANSWER IS CORRECT, COMPLETE, SAFE, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR EQUIPMENT OR SITUATION.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, ASK ROADIE AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WON'T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT, OR A CANCELED, DELAYED, OR DISRUPTED SHOW OR EVENT, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR ANY ANSWER, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) WHAT YOU PAID ASK ROADIE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) $100. Some states don't allow certain limits, so some of these may not apply to you.
11. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold harmless Ask Roadie LLC and its owners, employees, and contractors from claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your content, your breach of these terms, or work you or people you direct perform.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@askroadie.app and try to resolve it informally for 30 days. Any claim that isn't resolved will be brought only in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina, and both of us consent to their jurisdiction.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.
14. Everything else
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any Crew plan agreement, are the whole agreement between you and Ask Roadie about the Service. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term isn't a waiver. You can't transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
