DiGiCo SD10 troubleshooting
The DiGiCo SD10 problems live-event techs bring to Ask Roadie most (also called SD10 console). Pick your symptom, or describe your own in plain words, and get the likeliest fix first, with the manual page when there is one.
Common SD10 errors & problems
What techs run into most, and what's usually behind it. The step-by-step fix for your exact unit is in Ask Roadie.

After updating, verify the multi-channel mute bug fix (muted channel still passing audio)
Likely cause: The bug was a UI/state mismatch in multi-channel handling; V2126 corrects the mute-state mapping so the indicator and the actual audio path agree.

Console will not start / behaves oddly after being moved from a cold truck into a warm venue
Likely cause: Condensation on the internal PC/boards can cause shorts and boot failures; allowing it to reach ambient and dry off removes the moisture before power is applied.
- Step-by-step fixGet the fix →
Desk sample rate readout drifts (e.g. flickers between 48000 and ~47900) instead of holding steady
Likely cause: A steady sample rate requires a single clean clock reference.
- Step-by-step fixGet the fix →
Intermittent clicking, crackling or pops on MADI inputs (coax/BNC MADI)
Likely cause: Galvanic isolation breaks the ground loop that is riding on the coax MADI shield; the fibre segment carries no ground, so the noise cannot reach the SD10 receiver.

Random clock errors / intermittent sync dropouts on an optically (Optocore) connected SD10 + racks system
Likely cause: Optocore is a self-clocking distributed sync ring; if any node is told to be its own master you get two masters fighting, which shows up as random clock errors and glitches.

Some areas of the touchscreen work but specific regions never respond, even after recalibration
Likely cause: A uniform offset is a calibration issue; localised permanently-dead regions indicate a failed digitiser layer, which calibration cannot correct.
- Step-by-step fixGet the fix →
Touchscreen registers touches in the wrong place / offset (worse toward right and bottom of screen)
Likely cause: The resistive/capacitive layer maps corner reference points; an offset that grows toward one corner means the calibration reference points drifted.
- Step-by-step fixGet the fix →
Want a redundant/backup console so a failure does not stop the show
Likely cause: Console mirroring keeps a hot spare with identical state; dual PSUs remove the single power-supply point of failure.
Not on the list? Describe it your way, or paste the error code off the display. Ask Roadie works the problem with you until it's fixed or you have a clear next move.
How Ask Roadie helps with the SD10
- 1. Pick the DiGiCo SD10. It's already in the list.
- 2. Describe what you're seeing. In your own words, or the error code off the screen.
- 3. Get the likeliest fix first. Steps in order, the manual page when there is one, and a note when other techs have confirmed it.
