Novastar NovaLCT troubleshooting
The Novastar NovaLCT problems live-event techs bring to Ask Roadie most (also called LCT, Nova LCT). Pick your symptom, or describe your own in plain words, and get the likeliest fix first, with the manual page when there is one.
Common NovaLCT errors & problems
What techs run into most, and what's usually behind it. The step-by-step fix for your exact software is in Ask Roadie.

Brightness varies cabinet-to-cabinet even after setting global brightness
Likely cause: Uniformity comes from per-module calibration coefficients stored in the receiving card; when some cabinets have them and others don't, brightness differs regardless of the global brightness slider.

Cabinets behave differently / some look off after mixing panels — receiving cards on different firmware
Likely cause: Receiving cards on mismatched FPGA/firmware render slightly differently; unifying the version removes the inconsistency.

Detect Communication Status shows a red/failed receiving card and part of the wall is dark
Likely cause: Receiving cards are chained; the first failed link stops data to every downstream cabinet, so locating the red card pinpoints the exact bad cable/card causing the dark section.

Flicker, noise, or color distortion at low grayscale
Likely cause: Low-grayscale flicker is typically EMI pickup or firmware that doesn't match the LED module; fixing grounding and updating firmware stabilizes the low-gray rendering.

How do I set up Ethernet redundancy / backup so the wall stays up if a cable fails
Likely cause: NovaStar's loop redundancy sends the same data down a backup Ethernet path; if the main link breaks, cards automatically pull from the backup port, keeping the wall lit.

Only part of the screen (some cabinets) lights up or shows the wrong section
Likely cause: A blank/partial or shifted image almost always means the receiving-card parameters or the port mapping in Screen Connection don't match the real hardware layout; matching them restores the full picture.

Screen is black or shows a garbled/incorrect image right after connecting
Likely cause: The sending card only passes a clean image when its set resolution/refresh matches the GPU output feeding it; a mismatch yields black or scrambled output.
