Common UDX Projector errors & problems
What techs run into most, and what's usually behind it. The step-by-step fix for your exact unit is in Ask Roadie.

Blending two or more UDX together — visible seam or brightness step in the overlap
Likely cause: ScenergiX ramps each projector's edge so summed overlap luminance equals a single image; without black-level compensation the overlap looks grey.
- Step-by-step fixGet the fix →
Cannot reach projector on the network / web UI or control not responding
Likely cause: DHCP-by-default means the address changes unless you pin it.

How to update UDX firmware (Pulse) safely
Likely cause: Pulse firmware is platform-specific and the write must not be interrupted; mismatched versions across an array cause subtle blend/color differences.

Image geometry is off on a curved/angled screen — need to warp or keystone
Likely cause: The Pulse engine has native keystone/4-corner/grid warp; putting it in a preset makes it repeatable, and offloading complex warps upstream avoids stacking latency and resolution loss.

Overheat warnings / thermal derating / dust in a touring unit
Likely cause: The DLP core is sealed but the electronics/laser cooling still rely on airflow and filters; restricted airflow forces thermal derating (dimmer image) then shutdown.

Quick specs / know-your-unit for UDX-4K32 (rigging, power, I/O)
Likely cause: Techs pulling or speccing power and truss need weight, amperage and native res up front; the 20A draw is the single most common power miscue on show sites.

Random flashes / sparkles / dropouts on an HDBaseT input, especially on long cable runs
Likely cause: The HDBaseT receiver only tolerates ~3 V/m of interference; unshielded cable or plastic connectors let EMI in and produce the random flashes techs see near LED walls and dimmer racks.
