InfiLED AR Series troubleshooting
The InfiLED AR Series problems live-event techs bring to Ask Roadie most (also called AR mk2, AR2.9, AR3.9, ARmk2). Pick your symptom, or describe your own in plain words, and get the likeliest fix first, with the manual page when there is one.
Common AR Series errors & problems
What techs run into most, and what's usually behind it. The step-by-step fix for your exact unit is in Ask Roadie.

Color/brightness mismatch between cabinets or after a module swap
Likely cause: INFiLED panels are pixel-calibrated at the factory; a mismatch is usually calibration being off or the wrong coefficient file, not a hardware fault.

Core specs / what is the AR Series and its key numbers
Likely cause: Baseline reference so a tech can confirm they are on the right panel and knows the power/data/curving budget before building the wall.
- Step-by-step fixGet the fix →
Dead pixels or a dead line/column on the AR panel
Likely cause: Dead pixels/lines are physical failures on the module PCB; NovaStar calibration only matches a healthy replacement, it cannot revive dead diodes.

Flicker, scan lines, or tearing on camera
Likely cause: On-camera flicker is a refresh/sync mismatch; NovaStar high-refresh + genlock and uniform firmware remove the visible scan.

How to update firmware on AR Series panels
Likely cause: AR is a NovaStar synchronous system, so all firmware/version management happens in NovaLCT; matching versions across cabinets prevents scan/color inconsistency.

One module / block of a cabinet is dark while rest of cabinet is fine
Likely cause: A single dark block is downstream of the receiving card, so swapping module vs slot cleanly separates a bad module from a bad port/hub board.

Panel wont power on / drops power under load
Likely cause: Sizing on average power overloads circuits at peak white; dropouts that track brightness are the giveaway that it is power, not signal.

Rigging / hanging AR Series safely (SAFETY)
Likely cause: Flown LED over people is life-safety; only the manufacturer rigging spec and a qualified rigger establish safe load limits.

Whole wall or a section shows No Signal / black after patching
Likely cause: On NovaStar synchronous systems a black cabinet is almost always power, a loose/failed data cable, a wrong mapping, or a dead receiving card — checked in that order it is fast to isolate.
